We’re the Smiths
People that know us today can’t believe that a few years ago we were separated and nearly divorced. We didn’t know who we were, or what we wanted. We had been coasting. For too long we had let life run its course and we did not see ourselves as creators in it. We didn’t want that for ourselves, or our kids. We knew that more was possible for us.
Addiction had also ravaged our extended family. We knew we wanted to create a new narrative for our children. What did it mean to be a Smith, what did Smiths stand for, and what did we want to create in our lives?
As we built our marriage back, we realized that to create the life that we wanted, it would require a lot. We had to intentionally build and strengthen our family. We had to take a stand for ourselves and each other.
We know that we only have one chance to raise our kids, and that every moment counts. We want to know that someday our children will grow up and be happy and fulfilled, and go after their dreams. We want to know that we are raising strong, confident children. We want our children to know who they are, love who they are, and believe in who they are. We are creating relationships that are going to last.
That’s what this is all about for us! We know things won’t be perfect, but we want to set them up to follow their dreams and to really go for what THEY want in life. Can you imagine if every child was raised knowing that?! We believe it all starts with a strong family.
Smith Family Values
Together with our kids, we continue to refine and declare what we stand for and what it means to be a Smith. Our last name really stands for something. It has become our family’s brand.
Our brand allows each member of our family to be who they really are, and to continue to grow and develop and explore who they want to become.
